From our student comments:

Dear Mr Stefanuk I ordered and started studying your book "Piano for Adults - Book I". For me as a 52 year old who never touched a piano before (played some flute and classical guitar when I was "young") this book is of great benefit to me! Any plans for writing a Book II, III ... in the future? Many thanks & regards, Luc Werniers, Belgium

Matt's piano playing is a pleasure to hear. His mom and others have been suitably impressed. He is continuing to work on the pieces when video games are not available. Really, he puts in at least 30 minutes to an hour every day and I have never asked him to do so. Somedays he spends hours at the piano. I am delighted with his interest and his accomplishment to date. Hope he keeps it up. Wish I had done it when I was young. See you in a couple of weeks. Ray S.

Todd is sure having fun with the new music. The jazz is really upbeat and he plays it with a lot of spirit! Joe R.

Yesterday's lesson was awesome! Thank you. I am excited about the method you teach and the spirit with which you teach. Your passion and energy are contagious! Please let me know a couple of CDs which I would benefit from hearing. Also, if you think of the book which ties Bach's musical vignettes to his theology, please let me know - I enjoy reading very much. Off to practice. Thank you again. Deborah.

Chords by Misha V. Stefanuk is a great sourcebook for both beginning and experienced jazz pianists. Stefanuk simply explains the music theory of intervals, chords, voicing, harmonizing chords, substitutions and enharmonic spellings which lays the foundation for understanding the complexity of the sound and chord structures on the piano. He finishes the book up by spelling out every jazz chord that you would ever need in all keys. All in all, a terrific compilation for any pianist interested in jazz!

Jonah Berman, JazzTimes 2002/2003 Jazz Education Guide

This is essentially a chord bible, covering everything from open and close voicing to quartal harmonies and polytonal clusters. While it's nothing new, it is presented in a well-organized fashion, and is a good reference book for beginning or intermediate pianists. Introductory section explains basic concepts such as intervals, consonance and dissonance.

Playing through this book is easy and fun, and at the same time it develops all the necessary piano skills and techniques. This book is also a first complete comprehensive Adult Piano Method available for download as well as paperback.
